It’s the time of year when I start to find myself falling into a rabbit hole of things I want to do, places I want to see, and house projects I want to start on the weekends. One look at our family’s Google Calendar is enough to make me sweat and our “free” days are quickly filling up with festivities. I love it, but it also makes me crave a bit of stillness.
This past weekend was no different. Between two photo sessions (shout out to Ashley and Cortnee for capturing our crazy!), finishing up finishing our basement (say that 5x fast), deciding I needed hanging shelves in the dining room, and staring at a half-finished mudroom face lift, my head is spinning – or maybe it’s just the paint/stain fumes getting to me!
In-between to-do’s, we managed to still sneak in a bit of quality family time – baking cookies (the pre-made Pillsbury kind, let’s be real), watching the Bills game, making a few crafts, and preparing for our Thanksgiving hosting duties next week.
This upcoming weekend, I’m making a plan to make less plans, to finally finish the projects I’ve started, put my phone away for another attempt at “Wireless Weekends,” and to make the most of the quieter moments at home. It’s the most wonderful time of the year, and I’ll be damned if I miss it by falling into the trap of being “too busy”!
