Can you tell I’m playing a bit of catch up here?
Huck turned FOUR years old on October 8th. Four. I still can’t quite wrap my mind around it.
While four seems like such a big kid age, Huck is very much still my baby – sometimes, admittedly, to a fault. He is officially in pre-k this year and is thriving in the school setting five days per week, which has been a pleasant surprise! Every morning I watch him walk into school hand-in-hand with his big sister and my heart swells with pride.
At age four, Huck is really coming into his own. He’s still as obsessed as ever with Lightning McQueen and playing cars, loves building with his Picasso tiles and Legos, and has recently taken up a liking to coloring. He is smarter than he ever wants us to realize and his stubborn streak has not weaned throughout the years. (Someday we hope it will serve him well, even if it makes us a bit crazy from time to time!)
Huck loves his big sister and still has the most contagious laugh we’ve ever heard. He is snuggly – when he wants to be – and is always one of the silliest kids we know. His mannerisms and expressive nature are always entertaining. He’s our best boy and we couldn’t love him more if we tried!
A few fast facts about our Huckles:
- Favorite color: Green
- Favorite pastime: Playing cars
- Favorite food: Fruit snacks. Pizza and french fries are a close second.
- Dislikes: Taking naps, being interrupted (pot calling the kettle!)
- Future goals: Become a race car driver (a big improvement from wanting to become an actual race car)
Happy birthday, bubbas! You might be four now, but you will forever be my baby boy. I love you all the numbers in the whole world, and I am so proud to be your mommy!
