Marleigh and Huck don’t share a birthday, but this year we decided to combine their birthday parties due to their special days being just a few weeks apart on the calendar. I struggled a bit with the party theme because of this – wanting to choose something that wasn’t too girly, too boyish, or too boring. We finally settled on a breakfast theme and decided to turn it into a full-on pajama party!
The amazing cakes were made by Sinfully Sweet by Dana, who knocks the kids’ cakes out of the park every single time. I kept the decorations pretty simple with sprinkle tablecloths and donut napkins from Hobby Lobby, a DIY tassel garland, and a donut garland that I made by cutting up a gift bag.
For the food, I went the easy route by ordering a breakfast pizza and bagel platter and setting up a parfait station with yogurt, berries, and granola. I also set up a coffee bar with tons of K-cup options and creamers. And obviously it wouldn’t be a breakfast party without donuts! We picked up 80 Tim Bits from Tim Horton’s (the kids’ favorites) and put each one on cake pop sticks for easy eating – with the aim to prevent sticky fingers as much as possible!
It was a beautiful day spent celebrating our two favorite people surrounded by family and friends. The breakfast party theme was a hit, and I’m of the opinion that every gathering from here forward should have a pajamas-only dress code! #Sweatpants4E
